Venice is now part of the collective imagination, everyone knows it, everyone would like to go there at least once in their life. When we think about Venice we think about gondolas, San Marco, Palazzo Ducale, Casanova, and Marco Polo…
Venice is the city you must not only see with your eyes but also experience with your heart. Venice is an everyday revelation.
Going off the beaten track you can find yourself admiring masterpieces where you least expect them. Walking down quiet and small little streets you can smell the brackish water of the lagoon and see how the light shapes the canals. You can step on the ground that others have stepped on before you and which is the result of the human genius that has been able to adapt to an initially harsh environment. All of this cannot be described, it must be experienced.
Let’s do the classic: Saint Marks and the Dogi Palace, or let’s go off the beaten track in one of the quieter districts of Venice, Dorsoduro, or Cannaregio where we can find the ancient ghetto. Let’s explore the islands of the lagoon and let’s drink a spritz.
