Venice is the city you must not only see with your eyes but also experience with your heart. Venice is an everyday revelation.
Going off the beaten track you can find yourself admiring masterpieces where you least expect them. Walking down quiet and small little streets you can smell the brackish water of the lagoon and see how the light shapes the canals. You can step on the ground that others have stepped on before you and which is the result of the human genius that has been able to adapt to an initially harsh environment. All of this cannot be described, it must be experienced.
